Google announces Google Maps Local Mobile

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

Google Maps Mobile is a very slick Java J2ME App for your J2ME MIDP capable Phone. Thankfully my Sidekick II supports J2ME (CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0) which came out in OS 2.3 this month or last.

It’s a very slick app that gives you mapping, scroll and zoom similar to Google Maps on the desktop. Nice.

Sun UltraStation 20 looks like a screamer

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

Wow, is there any reason short of the lack of a redundant fan/power supply that the Sun Ultrastation 20 wouldn’t be a great server? 2 400 GB Drives in it with 4 GB of Ram? Any reason why they say they only will support 500 GB of disk? Does Sun only sell 250 GB Sata drives? What about the new 400 GB drives?
